About Us
What is the Land of Hope?
The idea for the Land of Hope emerged after its founders met and befriended the community that was living atop the municipal landfill in Escuintla, Guatemala. In 2015, through generous donations, they purchased the land bordering the the landfill and broke ground straight away.
Today, The Land of Hope is a beacon of light in an extremely impoverished and desperate community. It includes a community kitchen, a medical clinic called "Casa Alicia," and a church building that also functions as a community center.

What is Our Role at LoH?
Our responsibilities evolve as the Holy Spirit leads us, but include:

Assisting in the kitchen

engaging in outreach efforts to the community

leading bible studies

handling administrative tasks
-
speaking on behalf of BuildinGuate and LoH

building meaningful relationships with the community and the team at LoH

teaching sunday school for kids

tutoring students
